My first attempt at intricate Islamic art involved a variety of designs, transformed from simple geometric shapes. It took me 10 tries just to get a single pattern right. I felt like a mathematician trying to work out equations. Now as I’m trying this at home and teaching myself, brace yourself for failed attempt posts.
