Time really does fly by. Days turn into weeks every time I sit down to write another post. Where am I or what do I have to show for my hiatus, nothing, nothing at all. I spend the majority of my time reading and researching new authors. However, I can’t complain, about the process of learning and gaining new knowledge. The slow life has certainly taken over and I’ve handed it the keys.
Currently, I feel like I have a hundred and one things to do. Especially when I look at the pile of unread books. There’s no avoiding them as I walk past the pile a hundred times in a day. Will I manage to get through this lot, before I purchase the next round? eventually yes. I can easily answer that as the next shopping spree will not be happening any time soon. I’ve taken part in the no-buy challenge. Currently, I’m taking each month as it comes, however, the goal is to make it a year. Fingers crossed. I started the no-buy challenge in mid-January, after I came across a video on YouTube, when I finished watching one YouTuber speak of her experience and what she did, intrigued, I watched five more. Count me in, I told myself.
After my discovery, I told a couple of colleagues about my plan. One of the shocks given to me was “But the sales are on, are you really not going to buy anything in the sales”. I simply replied yes. I knew from that moment on that the challenge was on. As I started mid-January I decided to extend the end date to the last day of February. Three and a half weeks in and I’ve not taken my card out to pay for anything aside from essentials when needed and groceries. The happiest moment is when I see my bank balance, and the saddest moment is when I have small urges to buy everything that I don’t need.
My shopping basket currently has nothing in it.
